Creating a profile on MySpace takes relatively little time and means that anorganisation, business, brand, service and/or product are available to the 100+ million users of MySpace, as well as benefiting from higher Google ranking as a result.
MySpace technology serves as an alternative to buying a website from a web design company, for example a Club or School might use MySpace functionality to create a networking group of Club members or prospective Sixth Form students, thus enabling them to link together to create friendships and contacts. MySpace could also be used to bring together alumni, suppliers or business contacts etc.
- MySpace is the largest online social networking portal on the web.
- 100 millionth account created on August 9, 2006 (106 million accounts on September 8, 2006 - reportedly attracts new registrations at a rate of 230,000 per day).
- It's the second largest destination on the web, by page views.
- It splits 50.2% male, 49.8% female.
- MySpace reaches more men online than ESPN.com and more females online than iVillage.

- The site attracts 220,000 new registrants daily.
