WHY TWITTER?

Twitter was originally a simple micro-blogging platform. Users would answer the simple question “What are you doing?” in 140 characters or less. These mini-blog posts were nicknamed “Tweets”.

Instant messaging and email are still dominant methods for communicating between individuals but Twitter wins hands-down when it comes to instantaneous communication with large numbers of people and trend and behavioural analysis.
